Thanks to a comment in an old post I was reading, I solved the problem of a misread on my gray tank. One line in the post mentioned a sensor grounding out. A lightbulb went off in my head. The PO must have replaced the gray tank with a bigger one and positioned the new one slightly more to the driver side. The sensor stud for the full level was touching the propane line, causing the tank to read full. Once I put a plastic cover over the pipe at that spot, all fixed. My next move is to reposition the propane line about 1/2" over so I can access the sensor should it be necessary.
