I'm sure this post will take some of you back. I just completed my cracked frame, or as I called it, my "flex" frame, mitigation welding job on my 2007 257sr. Big thanks to JohnB for recognizing the issue the moment he saw my camper, and then directing me to a 10 year old thread on this forum that dealt with the problem. Also thanks to henryj for posting a fix to the issue in 2008. That was my blueprint. I jacked up the ends of the header to get a level string line, then pulled the header as straight as I could. Next. a piece of 2x2x1/4 angle iron was welded just behind the header from main frame to main frame, also being attached at the A frame arms. This literally unified the bottom front of the camper. Then another piece of 2x2x1/4 was welded across the top of the A frame just in front of the battery box supports and just behind my snap up brackets. For good measure, another piece was welded across the bottom of the A frame just in front of the snap up brackets. It's nice to have a friend with a fabrication shop and a welder. I still have room to move the brackets in either direction. It's not real pretty because I couldn't get the angle iron to fit inside the A frame after it was cut, but it sure is effective. Again, thank you to everyone who contributed way back then. Your good work lives on.
